Peak Rate Interface System (PRIS)
This additional component will also allow you to run your solar electric system to it’s optimum capacity when tied to the grid. It is fully automatic and it will assure that you have plenty of power for backup needs.
When you get your Battery Backup system we can set it up to save you money and still have a reliable Backup system.
Peak Rate Interface System (PRIS) is designed for areas where the variable rate structure is available from your local electric utility and you would need a digital ‘smart’ meter that the utility will install for you.
Once you have a digital meter we can then install a timed change-over switch which switches the 'loads' (electricity consuming devices) from the grid to the inverter during the higher rate price times during the day.
The inverter uses the lower cost energy that is saved in the batteries.
All this is so you can run on batteries during the most costly times of the day while charging the batteries with the lower cost middle-of-the-night electricity.
You will save a lot of money during a year by switching back and forth between the batteries and the grid.
